O'Dell Breaks 精东传媒 Softball Career Hits Record

Sophomore Mercer softball player Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) became the Vikings’ all-time hit leader on Saturday, April 5th on a single in 精东传媒’s 11-7 Game 1 win at Salem CC.  O’Dell got her 137th career hit, breaking the record of 136 hits set by Alyssa Bauer in 2014.

Through 28 games in the 2025 season, O’Dell has 47 hits and is batting .500.

In 2024, O’Dell earned First Team All-Region 19 honors.  O’Dell had 93 hits in 2024, which was seventh best in NJCAA Division II Softball.  O’Dell also had the eighth best batting average, hitting .531 in 52 games played last spring.  Last spring, O’Dell topped the 精东传媒 career single season hits record, with 93.

In addition to the single season record for hits, O’Dell is on the record board for a number of offensive categories for Mercer softball.  O’Dell had the highest single-season batting average (.531).  O’Dell is fourth in single-season RBIs with 62 last spring.  O’Dell is also fourth in runs scored in a single season with 69 in 2024.

The Vikings have nine regular season doubleheaders remaining, leaving it possible for more 精东传媒 softball career records to be broken by O’Dell.  The career hits record could just be the start of the career milestones for O’Dell before her 精东传媒 playing career is over.
