On Tuesday, February 10^th Mercer women’s basketball held their Sophomore Night at a game vs Lackawanna.  Sophomore Night is a night to recognize all second year players for their dedication and commitment to the team.

Mayah Alford is a Liberal Arts major from Levittown, PA.  Mayah earned All-Conference All-Academic honors for the Fall 2025 semester.  Mayah is a two-time GSAC Player of the Week this season.  Mayah is averaging a double double with 14.2 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game.  Mayah is second in the nation in steals and in the top 15 in offensive rebounds and rebounds per game. Mayah comes to practice with a smile and positive attitude every day.  Mayah is also Women’s Basketball Women in Sports Day selection for this season for her teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship. 

Zaakirah Edwards is a Business Administration major from Philadelphia.  Edwards is averaging 12.7 points per game this season.  Last season Edwards averaged 11.2 points per game last season and was just shy of being in the top 50 in the country in assists with 124.  Edwards earned All-Region and All-Conference All-Academic honors in Fall 2024.

Xana Garcia Galan is a Business Administration major from Barcelona, Spain.  Garcia Galana was an NJCAA Academic All-American for the 2024-2025 academic year.  Garcia Galan earned 2^nd Team All Garden State Athletic Conference honors last season.  Xana was averaging 13.7 points per game this season.  Last season Xana averaged 13 points per game and finished in the top 50 in assists.  Xana earned All-Region and All-Conference All-Academic honors both semesters last year and All-Conference All-Academic honors this fall.
