Selden, NY-Mercer softball moved to 25-3 following a 10-3 Game 2 win at Suffolk County CC (11-9). Sophomore Jozalyn Sheipe-Warthen (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) went 2 for 4 with a double, home run, 3 runs and 3 RBIs and sophomore Stella Logan (Trenton, NJ/Allentown HS) was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Freshman Karisa Krawiec (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) had 2 RBIs and freshman Ammonie Wertz (Ewing, NJ/Mercer County Tech) had a double and RBI.
Freshman pitcher Ashlee Haywood (Ewing, NJ/Council Rock North) struck out seven in seven innings pitched and allowed just one earned run to move to 13-1 on the season.
Freshman Priscilla Guthrie (Macomb, MI/Lutheran North) and Bella Cornish-Didonato (Titusville, NJ/Hopewell Valley) each had an RBI in the win. Sophomore Arianna Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) went 2 for 5 with 3 runs.
