Amy Ricco Bio

Professor Amy Ricco holds an Associate of Applied Science in Horticulture Production from the State University of New York at Morrisville, a Bachelor of Science in Plant Science, and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Agricultural Education—both from Cornell University. Upon completing her graduate studies, she joined Mercer, where she has remained a steadfast leader in horticultural education. Her teaching excellence has been recognized with Mercer’s Distinguished Teaching Award, and her deep community engagement earned her the Community Service Award.  Professor Ricco has specialized expertise in entomology and integrated pest management.

Professor Ricco has also been instrumental in Mercer’s longstanding participation in the prestigious Philadelphia Flower Show. Under her co-leadership, students have earned national acclaim with four gold medals, four silver medals, one bronze medal, and numerous special awards over the past decade.
