What is Concurrent Enrollment for High School Students?
Qualified high school seniors are invited to participate in the Concurrent Enrollment Program at 精东传媒. We offer the following types of concurrent enrollment for high school students:
Dual Enrollment Program
This program allows students to complete up to 12 精东传媒 credits during their senior year of high school. Credits earned through the Dual Enrollment Program may be used toward high school and/or college requirements. This program was developed in response to the 12th Grade Option initiated by the New Jersey Department of Education. *Through Dual Enrollment, students are able to take courses at 精东传媒 while they are in their senior year at the high school. This program provides a unique opportunity to experience college courses, enhance their educational experience and prepare for the academic rigor of college.
*Certain high schools may allow qualified juniors to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program.
Why Dual Enrollment?
Taking 精东传媒 courses while in high school can defray the total cost of attending college. Credits earned through dual enrollment can be used toward degree requirements at 精东传媒 and/or, depending on the program of study, transferred to a four-year college or university. The Dual Enrollment Program enables students to accelerate their college career. Students enrolled in this program may enter their freshman year of college with advanced academic standing.
To participate in the Dual Enrollment Program, high school students must:
- Attend a high school that participates in the Dual Enrollment Program
- Have the permission of their high school
- Have senior status (certain high schools may allow qualified juniors to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program)
- Submit the . Please be sure to pick 'Concurrent High School' as your Admit Type.
- Take the ACCUPLACER placement test or submit SAT / ACT scores.
- A score of 480 or higher on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (ERW) portion of the SAT or 19 or higher on the Reading portion of ACT exempts you from the English portion of the placement test.
- Students who score a 4 OR 5 on the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Career (PARCC) English Language Arts/Literacy Grade 11 exam are considered college-ready.
- Complete and submit the Concurrent Enrollment Registration Form and submit to the Admissions Office.
- Be responsible for all costs associated with the Dual Enrollment Program including tuition, books, fees, and course materials
- Provide their own transportation to and from 精东传媒
- Be held to the terms and conditions of the 精东传媒 Student Conduct Code and Student Integrity Code
- Adhere to the 精东传媒 and high school academic calendars
"Jump Start" Program
精东传媒 welcomes high school seniors and juniors presently enrolled at any high school, as well as home schooled residents, to apply to 精东传媒's Jump Start program. The following criteria apply:
- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have completed the equivalent of 10th grade.
- Applicants to the program must be recommended by and have written approval from their high school guidance counselor and parent/legal guardian. In the case of home schooled students, written approval of a parent/legal guardian will suffice.
- Applicants will be allowed to enroll in no more than two college-level courses during any term under the guidelines of 精东传媒 prerequisite and co-requisite system. Applicants may not enroll in selective admissions programs.
- Applicants must meet minimum proficiency requirements on the placement tests or SATs or ACTs. To continue in the program, the student must maintain a minimum term GPA of 2.0 at the College.
- Jump Start students will be designated as non-degree students until they meet the College's admission requirements for a degree student.

- Students are required to submit a completed Concurrent Enrollment Registration Form for each and every semester they wish to enroll through the Jump Start Program. This document will be required in order for the Jump Start Student to register for classes. Download the Concurrent Enrollment Registration Form and submit it to the Admissions Office.
- If a student has completed coursework through the Jump Start Program and wishes to enroll in a degree or certificate program upon completion of high school graduation, they must complete another admissions application.
